Mulch for roses and perennials is suitable for preventing weed germination and growth. It is produced from the bark of coniferous trees—selected exclusively from logs that have not been chemically treated against pests—and from screened, matured compost made primarily from tree bark.

The recommended mulching layer is 6–8 cm thick, while the thickness for winter mounding should be adjusted according to local climatic conditions.
